This sounds really unusual and good. At first, I wasn't sure about the recipe idea because it sounded a lot like these cozy mysteries that are popular nowadays that always have a blurb on the front cover, saying, "Recipes included!" or "Home decorating tips included!" or "Scrapbooking instructions included!" as if the story is so weak that the author has to add some additional material to give the readers their money's worth -- but this sounds like the recipes and cooking are integral to the story.
